About Ice Shield

For years, reciprocal and turbo-prop aircraft owners and operators only had one option for aircraft de-icing products. With the introduction of Ice Shield™, those aircraft owners and operators were offered a second option that they could count on for a quality product, delivered in a timely manner.

In 1998, B/E Aerospace, Inc. acquired SMR, a former BFGoodrich de-icer manufacturing facility located in Fenwick, West Virginia. B/E Aerospace is the world's leading manufacturer of cabin interior products for commercial aircraft and business jets, and a leading aftermarket distributor of aerospace fasteners. Through the years, B/E Aerospace has built a strong customer base at its Fenwick operation with a variety of engineered solutions, manufacturing a range of products, including de-icers, aircraft panels, helicopter floats, and in-flight refueling components.

In 1998, Ice Shield de-icers were introduced to the general aviation market. Though it was a new name to the marketplace, these products were developed from a deep background in de-icing technology. Emphasizing quality, value, service and selection, Ice Shield has become the preferred brand for aircraft de-icers. Ice Shield wing de-icers have accumulated over 18 million flight hours. These wing de-icers feature Edge Guard™ technology, laboratory proven to increase service life up to 60 percent. Ice Shield is available in a wide variety of wing and propeller boots for most piston and turboprop aircraft.

Ice Shield offers a network of authorized distributors throughout the world. De-ice products are readily available regardless of the customer’s location. Additionally, a network of authorized factory certified installation centers is established to provide convenience in picking a location closest for the aircraft owner and operator.

Ice Shield customers count on superior products with unmatched customer service. No-charge 48-hour delivery is guaranteed in the continental United States and no-charge UPS ground to Canada is also provided. Technical support, both on-line and by telephone, makes that next de-ice installation smooth.

Ice Shield is currently available for over 75 aircraft models. Covering 85% of the general aviation aircraft operating today, B/E Aerospace is committed to providing a quality product, backing it with world-class service and competitive pricing.
